Interesting catalogue of Bolognese painter Sergio Vacchi's (1925-2016) solo exhibition held at Galleria Santa Croce of Florence in October 1974. Published by Bora of Bologna, the volume, bound in a modern half-linen, square back hardcover with dust jacket, opens itself with an introductory essay – translated in English, too - by Salernitan poet and art critic Alfonso Gatto (1909-1976), before listing, via large sized b/w and full-color illustrations out of text, all the 50 shady Florentine works of the master of Informal. Painful canvases, in which highly sexualized, lonely human figures rove throughout gloomy, deeply contaminated natural settings. Still fitted with its original dust jacket, sadly damaged at back and borders – see photos -, the book is sold in good general conditions, with some traces of wear at panels' margins and foxing at endpapers, half-title page and frontispiece.
