US Army Signal Corps “Tube VT-49 (SC 603 A)” Radio Set Thermionic Valve – Tung-Sol Lamp Works (1942) – WWII
Thermionic valve for radio sets, issued to US Army Signal Corps during WWII. Pentode with bakelite “American style” 5-pin base (UY standard), the VT-49 vacuum tube, primarily designed as radio-frequency amplifier, found use in a variety of receiving devices, such as the BC-229, part of the SCR-183 transceiver set, mounted aboard different aircraft models. Complete with its original packaging, the valve, produced in 1942 by Tung-Sol electronic industries of Newark (New Jersey), is sold untested, but in excellent conservation conditions: a real bargain, both for radio repairers and 1941-1945 US militaria collectors!
