«Il dramma» ("The Drama", Theater Magazine) - Le Grandi Firme - Year 6, No. 83 (1st February 1930)
Interesting issue of the historical theater magazine «Il dramma» (“The Drama”), founded in 1925 by actor and journalist Ernesto Scialpi (stage name: Lucio Ridenti) and by himself directed from 1926 to 1968. Defined in the frontispiece «quindicinale di commedie di grande successo» (“bimonthly publication of highly successful comedies”), the periodical, besides theatrical essays and reviews, proposed to the public an accurate selection of unpublished, reissued or lesser-known operas, such as, in this number: La fine della signora Cheyney (The Last of Mrs. Cheyney, by Frederick Lonsdale), Autori (“Authors”, by Enrico Raggio), La provetta (“The Test Tube”, by André Birabeau) and Il manoscritto (“The Manuscript”, by René Wisner). Except for a comprehensible, scattered foxing and small inner tears beside the stapling at pages 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6, the magazine, with its avant-garde graphics and the magnificent front cover – showing a portrait of actress Nella Regini –, is sold in very good conditions.
