Filippo e Fabio Raffaelli, Nuvolari.
(“Because Nivola is coming back, I feel it. His magic moment will be from 2000 to 3000, when from legend he'll turn into pure epopee... Within the fire of a hundred thunderbolts.”) This is how Lucio Dalla closes his magic preface to this fascinating biography by Filippo and Fabio Raffaelli dedicated to the likely most famous Italian race car driver of all times: Tazio Nuvolari (1892-1953). Furnished with a wide photographic apparatus, this research by the two excellent Bolognese journalists - father and son -, retraces, at the same time celebrating the centenary of his birth, the exceptional human parabola of the “Flying Mantuan”, from the first childhood experiences riding the uncle's motorbike, to the service as an ambulance driver during WWI, from the legendary victories of the '30s with Scuderia Alfa Romeo, to the late post-WWII successes, in an unbridled rush to the last drop of petrol and courage. Full of incredible anecdotes, endowed, in the closure, of fantastic contributions by Niki Lauda, Ayrton Senna, Riccardo Patrese and Pierluigi Martini, the volume, except for a tiny discoloration at the spine, is sold in extremely good conditions: an absolute must-have for all motorsports passionates!
