Regio Esercito Italiano Modello 41 Anti-Vescicant Individual Dressing Package - WWII

Interesting Modello 41 anti-vescicant individual dressing package, supplied to the Italian Royal Army (Regio Esercito Italiano) during WWII. Wrapped inside a blunt-edged reddish cardboard box, in its turn enveloped in a double isolating layer of rubberized parchment paper, the kit, designed to hinder the skin effects of an attack with blister agents (like the infamous mustard gas), was made up of 4 cellulose pads, mounted on just as many cardboard supports, with which to soak the agent drops up, and 3 vials, inside the same number of cellophane little tubes, containing the sterilizing liquid to sponge on wounded parts, by means of just as many, different cellulose pads. A result of the poison gas nightmare that spread among European military commands after the slaughters of WWI, the dressing reported, on the outer wrapping, the instructions for use, that peremptorily ended this way: Ā«DISTRUGGERE E SOTTERRARE IL PACCHETTO DOPO L’USOĀ» (ā€œDestroy and bury the packet after useā€). In very good conditions, the medication, nowadays of hard availability, comes as a must-have for every WWII Italian militaria collector.
