US Army āSuspenders M-1945ā - Olive Drab Canvas, With Brass Fittings and Padded Shoulders - WWII
Interesting M-1945 suspenders, issued to the US Army in the very last months of WWII. An evolution of the M-1936 model, these suspenders were likewise designed to carry the individual field bag - including the most recent Pack, Field, Combat and Cargo M-1945 system -, by hooking on to this last one and to the soldier's waist-belt, but, in respect to their predecessors, they showed padded shoulders, to make transport more comfortable. Manufactured in olive drab canvas, with brass fittings - only a hook on the waist-belt side, in the specimen for sale, seems to be of blackened steel, probably replaced in a second time -, this suspenders generation remained on duty until the 1960s, when the supply of the new M-1956 individual gear standard actually began. In very good general conditions, except for some tarnish signs on the hardware - see photos -, the suspenders still let us glimpse the black «U.S.» marking, and present themselves as a greatly interesting article for all US Late-WWII, Korea and Early-Vietnam Wars militaria collectors.
