US Army "Rubberset" Shaving Brush - Ebonite Handle and Boar Bristles - WWII
Wonderful āRubbersetā shaving brush, supplied to US military during WWII. Produced by the Rubberset Company of Newark (New Jersey), the brush shows boar bristles and a grip in ebonite, a hard and easily shapeable material, obtained through the vulcanization of natural rubber, sulphur and flaxseed oil (not suprisingly, another way to name it in English is hard rubber). Endowed with a grooved handle, the piece presents on its bottom the Ā«RUBBERSETĀ» marking, and is sold still in its original packaging, with no graphics, as it was not intended for commercial use. Loyal companion of every American G.I. on all war fronts, the āRubbersetā brush comes as an essential exhibit for each Allied militaria collection worthy of this name, as well as an accessory coveted by all vintage shaving enthusiasts.
