"Zünderbüchse 1” 8,8 cm FlaK Artillery Fuse Container - Cone-Shaped, Red Bakelite Type (1939) - WWII

Curious “Zünderbüchse 1” artillery fuse container, of Nazi manufacture, dating back to WWII. Produced in red bakelite, the case, designed to house the explosive devices of the legendary 8,8 cm FlaK anti-aircraft and anti-tank gun's ammunition, in all probability the most famous cannon of the whole conflict, shows a conical shape, and is provided with screw cap. In excellent general conditions, the item reveals several historic markings, both inside and outside the cone, as well as on the inner side of the cap: among them, besides «Zünderbüchse 1» on the tip - an indication of the container type -, «39», «III/8 1939» - references to the production period - and «71693/13» - in all likelihood, the manufacturing batch. True relic of the “waged war”, the piece results particularly attractive for all collectors of Early War Wehrmacht militaria.
