Pattern 37 Ammo Pouch for Bren LMG, MAB SMG and Modello 91 Rifle - Italian Army - Khaki Webbing With Leather Strap - '50s-'60s
Interesting ammo pouch of British standard, but Italian manufacture, dating back to post-WWII period. Identical to the Pattern 37 Basic (Bren) Ammo Pouch issued to the British Army during WWII, this pocket, introduced in the new republican Italian Army in 1947, was actually of national production, and, in addition to a slightly different color and a diverse webbing grammage, it showed a flap closure with buckle and leather strap, instead of the English version's snap fastener. Fitted, on the back, with brass loops for belt and bandoleer, the case, generously sized, allowed the housing of clips for Modello 91 infantry rifle, box magazines for Bren LMG, MAB SMG, and even hand-grenades. Almost indistinguishable from the British variant, this ammo pouch, in really good preservation conditions - except for some tarnish signs on the buckle, just needing a little cleanup -, suits well for reenacting purposes.
